Dav El merged with BostonCoach in 2013 to create the largest company in the high end chauffeured car industry. BostonCoach was founded in 1985 when Ned Johnson from Fidelity Investments wanted to create an improved transportation service for his executives.

Meet Our Leader

Steve Pitel – Chief Sales Officer

Steve Pitel joined Dav El Chauffeured Transportation Network as Director of National Accounts in 1999. Quickly thereafter in 2004 he was promoted to Vice President of Regional Sales, a role in which he was responsible for the entire east coast region. Under Steve’s leadership, east coast sales skyrocketed. In 2006 he was promoted to Senior Vice President of National Sales, which included the management oversight of the national sales team.

In 2014 Dav El Chauffeured Transportation Network merged with BostonCoach and in 2017 Steve was promoted to his current position of Chief Sales Officer. In this role, he is responsible for global business development, and the promise of assuring exceptional, safe, and technologically advanced, quality service for all of the company’s clients. He also oversees the Dav El | BostonCoach global sales team of more than 15 staff members and growing. In addition, Steve personally manages more than 250 Dav El | BostonCoach accounts, many whom have been with him for more than a decade.

A dedicated, experienced leader, Steve has more than 30 years of sales and marketing expertise in the ground transportation industry, understanding that a strong focus on customer service, coupled with building lasting relationships is the foundation to a company’s continued growth and future success.
In addition to his work at Dav El | BostonCoach, he is a member of the Grey Nun Academy (Yardley, PA) Advancement Committee and serves as an Allied Member of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA).

Steve is a graduate of Rider University where his concentrations were in business, management and marketing.

Shariff McMichael – Chief Operating Officer

Shariff McMichael brings more than 20 years of experience in transportation leadership to his role as Chief Operating Officer for Dav El | BostonCoach. In this role, Shariff oversees global operations with responsibility to deliver on the company’s promises to clients and assure reliable, safe and quality performance. Shariff has held varying roles of increasing responsibility and built a track record of success as a General Manager, Regional Director, Regional Vice President, and National Vice President. He has led teams that delivered consistently positive results and has engineered significant improvements in performance in multiple domains of service operations. He has also held roles as Regional Vice President on the west coast, and Vice President of Operations for North America where he worked to establish protocols and processes to drive continuous improvement before taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer. Shariff is a U.S. Air Force veteran and is adept at building trust-based relationships and strong teamwork and has mentored many managers throughout the company. He has led teams that delivered consistently positive results and has also helped engineer significant performance improvements in multiple cities. He is an innovative problem-solver and thorough leader in transportation operations and business development.
