Best Luggage for Frequent Travelers

If you’re frequently on the go, either for business or personal travel, then you understand the importance of good luggage. Not just luggage that looks good, but luggage that IS good and well made, with emphasis on material and functionality, as well as whether it is easy to manipulate, flexible whether for carrying on or checked purposes, roomy enough for all your essentials, and comfortable enough for potentially long walks.

Do’s and Don’ts of Luggage

Do focus on quality: While plastic is the least expensive material for luggage, there is a reason for it. It will not be as long-lasting as other materials, such as nylon and metal. The price for these other materials is a good deal higher than plastic, but, for long-term use, we wouldn’t recommend plastic. Also, remember that luggage gets more than its fair share of abuse, so don’t skimp out, especially for luggage that will be checked baggage.

Don’t skimp on handles: While we all dread the idea that our luggage’s pull out top handle might get stuck or won’t come out, that could possibly happen. So to safeguard yourself, choose luggage that has a decent side handle as well as a comfortable top handle. You won’t regret it!

Do focus on details: Cheap zippers? Small interior storage pockets? Inexpensive interior material? Skip those. Make sure that your luggage can accommodate your needs (for example, research luggage for business travel that makes packing a suit easy!).

Don’t go too small (or too big): it might seem easier and better to get a small piece of luggage for carry-on purposes, but think about your packing style. If you pack too much, the luggage might bulge or topple over. Plus, it could be too difficult to get up into an overhead bin. Purchase a piece of luggage that you’d be comfortable with carrying on but also possibly checking.
