Depending on your flight time, length of your trip, and other factors (Are you in shape? Are you looking to save a buck or two? Do you have the time to get to the airport early?), parking at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport can be a practical and easy endeavor.
Even the most novice traveler will find the parking at Atlanta’s airport to be straightforward. There is an entire section on the airport’s website dedicated simply to your parking options. There are 11 different parking lots, ranging from economy0 to hourly, broken up between domestic and international departures. The website offers a current status for each lot, which you can and should check in advance of your departure so you can decide where you’d like to park.
If you’re heading out for a long trip, and don’t mind walking to or being shuttled to the terminal, there are two options for you: Economy, which costs $14 a day (maximum), and Park-Ride, which costs $10 a day (maximum). The Economy lots are not covered and will require you hoof it a bit. The Park-Ride are a bit farther away but a shuttle can drop you at ticketing when you’re heading out and pick you up from baggage claim upon your return.
Less economical but more convenient choices are Daily and Hourly parking. Daily lots are covered and located across from the terminals and cost $19 a day (maximum). Hourly parking is the most pricey, coming in at $36 maximum a day after six hours.
If you’re looking for high-level parking options, then applying for the airport’s Gold Reserve Parking is an option. A reserved spot is kept for you, there is roadside assistance, and there is never any waiting in line. It is the most expensive option of course!
Finally, if you drive an electric vehicle, there’s good news! The ATL has 102 electric vehicle charging stations throughout the parking lots – a great benefit and another way that the airport is going “greener”.
