It’s no secret that Colorado is home to some stunning mountains and breathtaking views. It’s also been a prime destination for skiers and snowboarders for decades. Here we share a few of our favorite Colorado ski destinations. Which one is your favorite?
Keystone
Keystone made it in our top 5 ski resorts list due to its family-friendly ski experience. Keystone offers trails for the whole family – whether you’re an intermediate skier or just getting started. Known for having Colorado’s longest ski day, Keystone features the largest number of trails lit up for night skiing.
Aspen Highlands
How could we not feature Aspen in our list? Aspen Highlands is one of the four large ski areas in Aspen. Aspen is home to some of the most impressive and popular trails in the world, as well as home to the Winter X Games every year! An exciting “playcation” ski resort, with a hopping nightlife too, Aspen Highlands is considered the “go to” ski resort for locals.
Arapahoe Basin
Arapahoe Basin is beloved by those expert skiers that enjoy a challenge. If you’re a beginner, you’re better off at a different resort; however, if you’re an expert, we recommend you try the extreme trails at A-Basin. Before you go, remember that A-Basin is for advanced skiers and snowboarders, and has very limited amenities. Expect a ski lift and extreme trails, but don’t expect a large ski town with wild nightlife. This is for the adrenaline-rush folks!
Vail
Vail, Colorado’s luxury ski resort, offers 5, 317 acres of terrain for skiers, snowboarders, and all-around snow lovers. From its world-renowned ski and snowboard school to its family-friendly activities, Vail truly offers a variety of fun. The largest ski area in Colorado, Vail also boasts the stunning Vail Village, which includes amazing shops, dining, and several luxurious hotels.
Telluride
A combination of amazing trails, breathtaking views, family fun, and nightlife, Vail truly has something for everyone! A top spot for skiers of all skill levels, Telluride offers all types of trails from kid’s nursery slopes to intense, extreme runs. Telluride is also one of the few resorts out there that allows beginners to experience high alpine territory and mountain vistas, which should make every member of your travel group smile a bit more.
